Manual Approval of Life Event

Conflicting coverage can occur when an employee submits a Life Event but a future-dated coverage is already on the employee record. In this case, an administrator must manually adjust the coverage change, rather than approving through Pending Life Events. This should be a rare occurrence.

The coverage conflict is indicated in review of the pending benefit election.

The automated approval option is replaced with Manual Approve and a message indicating administrators must manually update coverage. When in doubt, contact your Bentek Account Manager for guidance on correctly updating conflicting coverage.

For any manually approved coverage, administrators must navigate to employee record and edit coverage changes manually. Remember to also enter Cobra information if any dependents are impacted.
