Add or Edit Dependent Record

Expand a dependent record to review demographics, contact information, status and a summary of elections. The Summary of Elections shows their coverage history: current, future, and terminated. 

Add New Dependent Record

A dependent record is typically added by the member through New Hire, Open Enrollment or Life Event modules in Bentek. Administrators also have the ability to add, edit or remove dependent records on behalf of the member.

Navigate to member record and select Dependents from the sub-menu.

Select Add Dependent to open a new dependent form for editing. Enter demographic and contact information, and Save to complete.

The Social Security Number can be left blank for newborns and dependents who do not yet have one. Be sure to update the dependent SSN as soon as available. A Dependent SSN that needs updating will appear in the Dependent Record Issues Dashboard widget.

If the Social Security Number of a newly added dependent matches an existing record, a Link will appear on dependent's record. Administrators can use the Link icon to navigate to the related record.

Edit Dependent Record

Use the Edit icon to open a dependent form for editing. Make any necessary changes and Save.
