How to Terminate a Retiree Status
A Retiree status should be terminated in the following instances:
- Retiree stops paying for premiums
- Retirement benefits are no longer offered by client
- Death of retiree
Follow the steps below to terminate a Retiree:
Search for a retiree using the Status field in the Find Employee Search Bar.
Navigate to the Employee Info screen.
Expand the Status Information section.
Click the Edit icon on the current status.
Enter a date within the Retirement End field.
Click the Save icon.
When terminating a retirement status, the date must be the actual date coverage will end. For example, if payment was not received for the month of October, the retirement end date must be 10/31 in order to correctly calculate the benefit termination dates.
Termination of retirement status will terminate all retiree benefits and any covered dependents.
